I thought
When you prayed
You got the things they say are good
And right
And Holy and Pure
Like vanilla cake
Or extra money for the offering plate
Or a nice singing voice
For hymns and praise songs
But I nailed your name on the cross
And got back everything in return
Like some sordid pipe dream
It took three days
Of prayer and supplication
to understand more of the lesson:
When they told you those things were wrong
That was them telling you.
Not G-d.
