Tears on the windy porch
Leaves flooding as though they would choke you
Heaving sobs into your tea mug
And driving, driving
Rain drizzling and wrapping your black sweater over your bare chest, hat down over your ears and stumbling into the Starbucks you purchase peppermint hot chocolate and sit alone.
Stare at your phone.
And the combination of the messages and the unexpected visit from your favorite person completely changes your perspective
And you crawl under covers and sip cider and eat pizza and watch movies with French titles and roll endlessly in the bed you share
Lights blazing over the city when you shut off the lamp
Surprise fireworks
Setting sail on a simple but comforting sea of endless possibility.
