The Good Wife.

They tell you that it's all about "submission"
It's a "Buzz Word" and you don't know what It means.
It reaches out like the hero and the villain: you have to trust it because it has all the power.

You think there is going to be a time where leadership is easy.

You think you can ride it out in the backseat, hammock, flat iron, nothingness of the tick tock washing machine and the humming of the too-cheap dryer on sale at the Sears and then you find out it's nothing like any of those things...

More like buzzing and mosquitoes on sweltering heat-long days in swamp country and you on tip-toe hanging laundry (not your own) while the tea kettle steams up the kitchen.  You hear it...but you can't take it off that burner: you are waiting.

You strip down all those things that made you Who You Are and put on your Pleasant Face and bend low over pages of poetry and pencils and packed up pampering you feel guilty taking out now and your ring feels like tethered lead that's oozing.

You stare down a lengthy dark hallway like there might be something at the end of it.  Something warm.

But it's chilly and the dust keeps rising.

You wait.

You wait and you cling to this thought that He is supposed to save You.  Like "We" is supposed to be "His Job".

But Eve was the Constant Gardener, and Adam couldn't till the land alone.
